The Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (SYOGOC, say “shiok”) organised an inter-division basketball competition for the first time on 29 August 2008. The main aim of this was to promote the sporting culture within our committee as we are organising the Youth Olympic Games!

A total of 6 teams participated in the competition. They were Communications & PR, Corporate Planning, Culture & Education Programme (2 teams), Marketing & Sponsorship and Volunteer Management.

Comms & PR and CEP (Team 1) made it to the finals. Speaking from a spectator’s point of view, the match was tough and exciting to watch.

Our 3-member CEP Team 1 made up of Amanda, Sharmayne and Liheng won the competition! The CEO of SYOGOC, Mr. Goh Kee Nguan, presented the winning team a HUGE trophy.

As you can tell, the event was successful and it was definitely a day for all SYOGOC members to remember. Most importantly, all of us had lots of fun!
