The Polytechnic Forum 2008 finally concluded last evening at Downtown East with a blast! There were dance and song items, skits, percussion performance and presentation on the Singapore Youth Olympic Games. What more could you ask for?

Rear Admiral (NS) Lui Tuck Yew (Senior Minister of State for MOE and MICA) was the Guest of Honour of the evening. He shared an insightful dialogue session with selected participants from the forum where students asked questions with regards to National issues.

We took a tour to the exhibition booths put up by students that showcase the 4 topics shared during the course of the forum. Do you still remember what the 4 themes are?

Here’s a recap:

  1. Entrepreneurship : Starting Young
  2. Community Service
  3. Health : It Does Matter!
  4. New Engines of Growth: Singapore Youth Olympic Games 2010

The YOG booth actually had prototype of YOG badges, T-shirts, lanyards, souvenirs and even a Youth website! It is a good sign ’cause this shows that youths actually DO care about the YOG. Hopefully, more youths would be inspired to contribute what they can for YOG after the Poly Forum.

The Polytechnic Forum 2009 will be hosted at Singapore Polytechnic next year. I am looking forward to more exciting issues discussed and hopefully, a whole lot of even more enthusiastic participants!
